Wow! The Kentucky Wildcats played one heck of a game against a very tough Louisville team. This has been an unbelievable post season for the Cats to say the least.
The Cards jumped out to an early lead and then Willie Cauley-Stein goes out with an ankle injury. Prompting Big Blue Nation to start trending #WinItForWillie on twitter.
The momentum was not swinging in the right direction for us, but the young Cats persevered. Clawing their way back within striking distance by halftime.
A second half without Willie had most us thinking that the task at hand was too much. However, these Wildcats had other plans and we all witnessed them mature right before our eyes. As Coach Cal said in his post game interview, “they’re playing for each other”.
The second half was filled with tense moments, but the Cats took the lead late in the half and never gave it up. When the final buzzer went off the Kentucky Wildcats had won 74-69.
How sweet it was! An improbable comeback, some awesome heroics and beating our in-state rival in the Sweet 16 to advance to the Elite 8. These Cats are legit and we love’em!
Up next is The University of Michigan. The Elite 8 match-up between the Wildcats and Wolverines will be Sunday, March 30th. Tip-off is set for 5:05 PM on CBS.
Kentucky will be facing LSU at 7:00 PM. The two teams split wins when they met during the regular season.
If Kentucky can secure a victory tonight, they will play the winner of the Ole Miss / Georgia game on Saturday March 15.
The Kentucky fan base is anxious to see the mysterious “tweak” to the team that has been put in place. Coach Cal and his players have been tight lipped about it and show no signs of revealing anything until the team takes the court on Friday.
The UK postseason begins today. Let’s take CATlanta like we know we can. This is Kentucky Basketball and this is time for the Big Blue Nation to shine.

A dancing Coach Matthew Mitchell is now an integral part of Big Blue Madness. The fans of Big Blue Nation now anticipate and expect a performance better than the year prior. Here is a brief rundown of Coach Mitchell’s past dance routines.
In 2010 Coach Mitchell surprised us with the “Dougie”. BBN went crazy for it and a star was born.
Then 2011 rolls around and we are treated to a Michael Jackson “Billie Jean” rendition for the ages.
Last year in 2012 he once again took things to a new level with MC Hammer’s “Hammer Time”. Complete with a laser light show and the UK Dance Team accompanying him.
So what will the 2013 Big Blue Madness bring? We don’t know, but we sure are excited to see it! GO CATS!!
